Get lost in the music

image

No matter what life throws at you, always remain positive.  We’ve all been thrown those unexpected curve balls in life and I don’t know about y’all but I always find myself questioning why.  Why do these things happen? Why me? We need to stop asking why and just move on with life. Music is a very important part of my life and not just because I like going to shows but because every song,  every lyric,  every beat and sound can bring back so many memories.  People don’t realize just how powerful music can be, especially lyrics. I can listen to the same song over and over again just because it speaks to me in a way nobody else can. So many unforgettable memories,  experiences,  etc. Well you get the point, music is there when no one else can be.

I found this cool article on Buzzfeed, it lists songs that have changed people’s lives. Is there a song that’s helped you through a tough situation or maybe even impacted your life?

Well today is officially my last day of class. This semester seemed to just drag by, but now it’s over, Whoop whoop.  Oops before I forget,  I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.  I know we sure did. I ate soo much, but I have no regrets (:

We didn’t make it to all the places we were suppose to but we still made the best of it. And I went to the UT Vs TCU game, although they lost it still was an awesome experience.

Swoopes there it is haha I feel like I’m the only person in the world who likes him.  Everyone that I talked to had nothing nice to say,  but hey you can’t like everyone right?

Yesterday was the first day of Sounds and Sights! I asked a couple of people if they were going and they had no idea what it was.  How could you not know what that is?  It’s a San Martian tradition. But then when I was asked what it was, I couldn’t even explain it. I just said the first three words that came to mind, kettle corn,  biscuits and camels.

Every night there is multiple groups playing all your favorite holiday tunes. On Thursday night however,  Kyle Park will be rocking the stage.  And for those who aren’t familiar with Kyle Park,  he is most certainly a person and not a place (: it costs $5 a night or $7 for the full on pass. Also, kids 12 and under are FREE! They have many delicious food options, a petting zoo and this year a lazer light show.  I mean who doesn’t like lazers? Make sure you check it out and eat a turkey leg for me.

Before all the festivities begin, they have Santa go around town turning on all the Christmas lights. This was our first year to attend,  but we only went to the first lighting which took place at CTMC. They have Santa flying around town in a helicopter, until it’s time to begin.  As he landed, the kids were going bonkers! If I were them I’d be questioning why Santa was coming in on a helicopter and not his sleigh.

It was a lot of fun. Especially seeing all the children so excited.

So last weekend Triple Crown celebrated their 18th anniversary. I unfortunately was not able to make it because I was at a wedding.  Luckily they had mariachis to keep me going.

But I knew someone who did attend,  can you guys guess who it was?  Yup you’re right lol it was Mark. Thanks again!  (: here are videos from some of the bands that performed that night.

Wasted Youth

The Jocks

Molly and the Hatchets

And last but not least
The Beaumonts

Another band that played that day was Ghosts of Dixie. They were covering for The Organics who were supposed to play.

They will be back soon!

But any who,  if you missed Ghosts of Dixie on Saturday don’t worry. They are playing again this Saturday at Taxi’s along Hooka Hey and Strike.

I’ve never heard of the last 2 bands, but I will find out more about them on Saturday. If you can’t wait for me to let you know how they sound, then make sure you get out there to the show. It is FREE after all.

So moving on to the next venue, Triple Crown

My coworker Chris is always talking about this infamous game night and I have yet to check it out. Unfortunately I’ve already missed the last 2, but the next one is on the 17th and I will make sure to be there. Anyone else want to go? I honestly don’t know how it works, but hey games are always fun.

If I missed anything please let me know!

So last night thanks to Rocky 🙂 I was able to see Circa Survive at Emo’s in Austin. Can I just say that Anthony Green is incredible? He had enough energy for a million people. He was so into the music, I can’t compare him to anyone I’ve ever seen. He really moved the crowd and did I mention he’s hilarious? Please excuse the quality of my videos. The place was jam packed and I was pushed around quite a bit haha.

Just look at the crowd, the feeling is indescribable.

The best picture I could get of him..isn’t he dreamy :))

Well remember what I told y’all about Pepper and how he told us to live in the moment? Well same thing happened during Circa. Anthony asked everyone to put their phones up and just LIVE IN THE MOMENT. I took this picture to show just how many people have their phones out. Isn’t it crazy?

20141203_222530

That’s all I have for right now, but if I did forget something please please please let me know. I am always open to suggestions and what not. Before I let you go, going back to living in the moment. That can pertain to anything, whether your out with your friends at a bar, hanging with family, or whatever it is that you do. Try putting your phone down and enjoy life. Go ask that person you’ve been eying all night to dance, tell someone how you feel and take them out, go outside and jog, spend time with the people you care about, do volunteer work, etc. There is so much out there that we are missing because we are so glued to this object (phone). I’ll admit I’m guilty of doing so, but I’m trying to change that. We have become addicted to technology. Let’s start a movement and put our phones down and just LIVE. Good luck to you all. I’ll see you next time 🙂 Oh don’t forget Christmas is just around the corner….
